CONGRATULATIONS to Christine Hamilton, Winner of the Bethlehem NAACP 50-50 Drawing held May 10, 2012,  to support our Gold ACT-SO winners as they travel to the National Competition in Houston Texas, July 5 – 8.

The 2012 ACT-SO Program held at Liberty High School, January 19th, was a wonderful success!

ACT-SO includes 26 categories of competition in the sciences, humanities, business, and performing and visual arts. More than 260,000 young people have participated from the program since its inception.

The NAACP’s Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics is a yearlong achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students. Bethlehem is in its 4th year of involvement with the ACT-SO program.

The Bethlehem NAACP ACT-SO competition included students from Liberty and Freedom High Schools in over 10 of the 26 categories.
From Mathematics to Entrepreneurship, the evening’s contestants showed great skill, knowledge, energy and musical harmony.
